Spoon Balloon

Spoon Balloons are functional spoon rests, inspired by Trompe L’oeil sculptures, sculptures that imitate everyday objects. Hand-sculpted to look like balloons, Spoon Balloon features five different colour options and are multi-functional.
For this project a product, logo, and packaging for a rigid drawer box were developed.
Process
The process of Spoon Balloon began with the product. Using real deflated balloons as a reference, Spoon Balloons were sculpted with polymer clay. Five iterations were finalized, baked in an oven, painted with acrylics, and coated in varnish.
Once the product was made the logo was developed, drawing inspiration from Popeye magazine and bubble letters. Then the packaging was created. Many iterations of layouts and colours were explored before reaching the end design. Once the design was finalized, it was printed, and wrapped to around a box.
Final Result
The final result of Spoon Balloon is a fun and whimsical product, logo, and packaging design.
